Hey everybody I am here to fully endorse the use of hemp wick when medicating with your bong or pipe or just about anything you are smoking. It is a healthy alternative to a butane lighter and burns extremely clean being that it is nothing but organic hemp and bees wax.

Now I just happened to have this little spice jar that used to have diced onions in it. I tend to keep anything made of glass because it always comes in useful some time in the future. In this case it had some little holes in the top that worked perfect for dispensing the hemp cord as is uncoils inside. As it burns it feeds more out and when you’re done its got a black twist on lid that disguises it and keeps it clean and looking mighty sophisticated.

This is the best addition to my smoking devices in a long time. It burns so clean and enhances the taste as well as burning hotter than a regular lighter allowing you to take larger, healthier hits.

So check out my new Hemp wick and table top dispenser and consider adding one to your coffee table. Cheers.

Enjoy and keep blowing that smoke proud,

~ The Hempen Jouneyman

Hey everybody, sorry for the lack of new posts lately. I’ve been taking care of some issues that have kept me pretty busy for the past week or so.

Today I have a few cool things for all of you hippies out there!Weeds

#1 Season 5 Premier of Weeds comes out june 8th!!

Check out the sneak peak on CelebStoner.com HERE!

I love Weeds not only because of the incredibly attractive Nancy Botwin, played by Mary-Louise Parker, but also because of the fact that the producers of weeds are doing incredible things for the legalization movement! They have created a show that has brought about more acceptance for the herb and the industry behind it. The show portrays a good loving mother who is forced to deal with bad people because of the fact that cannabis is illegal. All she wants to do is provide for her family and she is forced in to a world full of danger and corruption simply because of the prohibition. In addition to the show, weeds has worked with other activists to get the message out including being highlighted in CNN’s Marijuana inc. documentary about the marijuana industry in California. Not too long ago the creators of weeds released this short promo/doc about the history of weed. Check it out.

Next up we’ve got a little blazing treat here in vancouver that Canadian’s will be passing across the country In a beautiful display of unity and world wide acceptance.

Thats Right! The Olympic Joint!

The Olympic Jay blazing across Canada

The Olympic Jay blazing across Canada

The new design for the olympic torch is a perfectly ironic representation of our beautiful Vansterdam. From the pinched ends to the slight twist in is body, this is a beautiful modern take on the classic spliff. I personally think this is a brilliant symbol for the olympics. Nothing brings people together like a good session and what better metaphor than jog jog passing this joint across the country to bring the world together for the 2010 olympics.

My only complaint is someone’s gotta fix that run.. is burning a bit uneven.

Peace and keep blowing that smoke proud,

Newt Gingrich discussed his proposed “improvements” to the drug policy in the United States earlier this month on Fox News. Check it out.

Now the combined brainpower between these men couldn’t set a pinwheel in motion let alone lead a country, but what they propose is a drug policy similar to that of Singapore. Lets examine the Singapore drug laws and discuss just how ignorant O’Reilly’s statement really was.

The Following is Quoted from the Misuse of Drugs Act of Singapore

  • The law creates a presumption of trafficking for certain threshold amounts, e.g. 30 grams of cannabis
  • Any person found in or escaping from any place or premises which is proved or presumed to be used for the purpose of smoking or administering a controlled drug shall, until the contrary is proved, be presumed to have been smoking or administering a controlled drug in that place or premises.
  • Once again cannabis is listed as a class 1 drug, right next to cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, opium, ecstasy.
  • The limit of cannabis to be presumed a “trafficker” is as follows
    • Cannabis 15 grammes
    • Cannabis mixture: 30 grammes
    • Cannabis resin: 10 grammes
  • “Drug addict” means a person who, through the use of any controlled drug, has developed a desire or need to continue to take that controlled drug.
  • For a citizen to consume any controlled substance in any place outside Singapore, he may be dealt with as if that offence had been committed within Singapore.
  • For the Presumption of possession and knowledge of controlled drugs
    • Any person who is proved to have had in his possession or custody or under his control
    • anything containing a controlled drug;
    • the keys of anything containing a controlled drug;
    • the keys of any place or premises or any part thereof in which a controlled drug is found;
    • The presumptions provided for in this section shall not be rebutted by proof that the accused never had physical possession of the controlled drug.
  • Whenever a pipe, syringe, utensil, apparatus or other article intended for the smoking, administration or consumption of a controlled drug is found in any place or premises, it shall be presumed, until the contrary is proved, that the place or premises is used for the purpose of smoking or administering a controlled drug.
  • Power of search and seizure An officer of the Bureau, a police officer not below the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police or any police officer authorised by him or any senior officer of customs may at any time

    without a warrant enter and search any place or premises in which he reasonably suspects that there is to be found —  any controlled drug, controlled substance or article liable to seizure; or a person who has committed or is reasonably suspected to have committed any offence under this Act or any seizable offence under the regulations; search any person found in that place or premises;

  • Punishment for repeat consumption of specified drugs
    • Where a person who has not less than 2 previous admissions;  (This includes any 2 of the previous possible convictions we have already seen)
    • He shall on conviction be punished with imprisonment for a term of not less than 5 years and not more than 7 years; and  not less than 3 strokes and not more than 6 strokes of the cane.
    • In the event that someone commits a further 4th offense,
    • imprisonment of not less than 7 years and not more than 13 years; and not less than 6 strokes and not more than 12 strokes of the cane.

  • Supervision, treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts
    • The Director of the Central Narcotics Bureau may require any person whom he reasonably suspects to be a drug addict to be medically examined or observed by a Government medical officer or a medical practitioner. (Remember this is anyone who has the desire to use the drug again)
    • Every person who has been admitted to an approved institution under this section shall be detained in the institution for a period of 6 months unless he is earlier discharged by the Director of the Central Narcotics Bureau or the Review Committee of the institution.
  • Punishment for Trafficking Cannabis
    • Unauthorized traffic in cannabis where the quantity is
      • Not Less than 330 grammes (11.6 Ounces) and not more than 500 grammes (17.6 Ounces) Maximum 30 years or imprisonment for life and 15 strokes of the cane, Minimum 20 years and 15 strokes.
      • More than 500 Grammes, DEATH.
    • Unauthorized traffic in cannabis mixture where the quantity is
      • Not Less than 660 grammes (23.28 Ounces) and not more than 1000 grammes (35.27 Ounces) Maximum 30 years or imprisonment for life and 15 strokes of the cane, Minimum 20 years and 15 strokes.
      • More than 1000 Grammes, DEATH.
    • Unauthorized traffic in cannabis Resin where the quantity is
      • Not Less than 130 grammes (4.6 Ounces) and not more than 200 grammes (7.05 Ounces) Maximum 30 years or imprisonment for life and 15 strokes of the cane, Minimum 20 years and 15 strokes.
      • More than 200 Grammes, DEATH.

To receive the death penalty for trafficking methamphetamine, you must have  more than 250 grams. How does it make sense that the punishment for a smaller amount of cannabis resin the punishment is harsher than it is for Meth? They treat hash and similar products as if they a chemically refined hard drug.

After reading through this List of policies take directly from the Singapore Misuse of Drugs Act how can this even be considered a possible route for the United States to take? Drug Dealers are hung on the spot regardless of what kind of drug they are moving, Mandatory rehab has proven a failure and although corporal punishment will deter people from partaking in these illegal activities, it is a horrible crime to cane someone for being in the possession of a glass pipe.

For Bill O’Reilly to ignorantly state that this is the policy that should be adopted by the United States should be a crime unto itself. He is a figure who’s word is taken as an authority and for him to make statements like this without examining the facts is awful.

With the current direction of the war on drugs, a policy such as that of singapore is the only possible outcome. If the government continues to strengthen their stranglehold on their citizens with harsher minimum punishments for small time offenders, without the public outcry it will take to make a change,  they will spiral towards an inevitable dictatorship where those who act against their policies are put to death.

The time to act is now. We can’t just sit back and let our freedoms be taken away one by one till there is no hope left. Get in touch with your local and national champions for a change in drug policies such as the Drug Policy Alliance Network and NORML and make your voices heard.

Wow, I was so Impressed by this act of civil disobedience that I would like to share it with all of you. The original Blog by Trevor Titman is HERE.John Ashcroft

Trevor Titman at the University of Texas heard about John Ashcroft coming to speak at the university. Not an avid smoker, but having strong oppinions against Ashcroft’s drug policies, Trevor snuch in a bong and had a photographer on hand for this amazing phot op! This is an excellent statement as to just how prevalent Marijuana is in our culture, it is all around us and I think its time we make our politicians aware of this! Prove to them that cannabis is part of our culture and there’s nothing they can do to deter this fact

Its Time for some guerrilla activism people!

I officially Challenge all of you out there to capture photos of yourself and your public servant of choice sharing your favourite smoking apparatus. I’ll be aiming for this challenge as well and I will be posting back as soon as the mission’s accomplished! Post your photo’s on here and we’ll print and create a family album to send out to our legislators!

Good Luck!

Michael Phelps

Now we all know the story of the 14 time gold medal winning swimmer Michael Phelps and his

Michael Phelps is no stranger to the bong.

bong ripping “mistake” leading up to his olympic accomplishments. I’m sure the majority of us can figure out that this was not a mistake, people don’t usually trip into taking massive hits out of expensive bongs. So in retrospect Mr. Phelps should learn a lesson from the following Pro-Athlete who came out in the open and asked for acceptance of his pot smoking lifestyle.

Nick Diaz

My new favourite fighter Nick Diaz took out the impressive Frank Shamrock last night in and amazing show of dominance. This performance came right after he came out of the cannabis closet and into the open with his recreational use of the herb. Diaz moved to Stikeforce in San Jose after some issues the UFC had with his pot smoking choices. He claims to smoke the night before every fight in order to relax and prepare mentally for the battle ahead, and after last night it seems to have worked.

“I can pass a drug test in eight days with herbal cleansers. I drink 10 pounds of water and sweat out 10 pounds of water every day. I’ll be fine.”
“I’m more consistent about everything being a cannabis user,” Diaz said in an interview with The Times last week. “I’m happy to get loaded, hear some good music . . . I remain consistent. And I have an easy way to deal with [the drug tests].
I have been waiting for a Pro Athlete to come out and openly and proudly admit to their choice to use cannabis. Hopefully get it in to people’s heads that you can be a hard working, athletic, productive and use cannabis.
I hope that Michael Phelps can learn from Diaz and admit that he enjoys smoking and to Continue doing so! Don’t fix what ain’t broke. If smoking weed to relax on weekends is what you do to have a good time then you should continue to do so.

Be yourself and smoke proud you amazing fish-man!

Britney Spears performed at GM Place here in Vancouver tuesday night and reportedly brought her show to a halt for around 40 minutes while her paying audience sat in silence because she “would not continue unless people stopped smoking marijuana”.

Now I am neither a fan nor have I ever had anything against Britney Spears but this irks me in a BIG way.

Britney Spears halts show till audience members stop smoking weed.

Britney Spears halts show till audience members stop smoking weed.

@Britney Spears – Who do you think you are? How dare you pass judgement on us for smoking a plant. Was it sometime between the cocaine, alcohol abuse and issues with child services that you developed some  kind of moral superiority to those of us who choose to blaze in hopes of hearing some kind of talent emanating from your stage? For you to refuse to perform for the people who paid to see you is insulting and unprofessional of you as an artist and for your reason to be the smoking of marijuana well that is just petty. I don’t know you personally but maybe some of the public opinions of you aren’t so far off. If there was a real issue and reason behind the request then maybe you should have taken it upon yourself to address the audience. It seems though that with you being a smoker yourself, the issue of “smoke” shouldn’t have been a major one. When you ended your show you stated,

“Thanks Vancouver. You were wonderful. Drive safe. Don’t smoke weed!”

How about you worry about your own destructive lifestyle and how it effects your children and family, and then maybe think twice before you pass judgement on people who enjoy relaxing with an organic, safe and healthier alternative to railing lines of blow, poisoning themselves with cigarettes and smashing back bottles of booze like your oh so acceptable choices.

Now that thats out I apologize because I don’t know you or your reasons behind these statements, but what I wish you and the rest of the prohibitionists would do is educate yourselves. Instead of acting as parrots and repeating the same tired lies that they’ve heard in the past. Marijuana use is not dangerous and more than anything it is a personal choice. I am beyond tired of hearing people, who have no right to do so, tell others that marijuana is bad.

You know what Britney, DON’T DO BLOW, DON’T SMOKE CIGARETTES And TAKE CARE OF YOUR DAMN KIDS!!

Recently The movement to legalize Marijuana has been able to gain momentum Largely due to the development of the Internet. Web 2.0/social networking has created a platform for which the public has utilized to educate themselves as well as each other. Sites like Facebook and Twitter have opened up a direct line to the people we want to hear and allow for the spread of information on a vast scale.

The anti-marijuana laws have been built on lies, spread by government propaganda andSmoke Proud handed down through the generations. This system has been working for the past 70 years. Unfortunately for them, the internet has provided a way for the truth to make it to the people. When people tell kids and adults that marijuana is a dangerous substance they can easily go online and google the truth to their hearts delight. Thanks to this freedom of information the chain of lies has been broken and the truth has taken root in the new generations. Its only a matter of time before all the lies are weeded out (no pun intended) in public forum as we’ve seen happening in the media the past few months.

I am ever optimistic for the movement and with the rapid spread of medical marijuana in the states its looking good for Tom Ammiano’s Bill in 2010. I encourage every one out there to do your part, sign up for the Drug Policy Alliance Network mailing list and always look out for ways to contribute, send letters, emails, call your representatives and demand for a reform of the outdated, unconstitutional, and just plain ignorant marijuana laws.

Its becoming more and more clear why the united states are in such chaos. People need to take notice of what is being published as common knowledge across the country. People need to start questioning the authority of the people running their country and enforcing their laws.

Here is a video of the President of Mexico alleging US Officials of accepting drug cartel payoffs. I blogged a few days ago about the Mexican drug lord thanking the US government for keeping drugs illegal. Notice a trend?

The Drug Cartels pay the government officials to lobby for prohibition, and they thank them! Publicly! Next the federal government goes after the easy targets like medical dispensaries in California. They’re not hard to bust, they don’t try to hide or fight back! The F’d up thing is that these dispensaries get their medicine from mostly legal growers, so the Drug Cartels don’t even take damage from these raids. The US government is waging civil war on its law abiding citizens while accepting money and partnering with the Drug Cartels.

The government is corrupt but its not just the higher ups, this corruption has trickled down to local law enforcement who take it upon themselves to police and control their communities as they see fit.

This article shows narcotics officers raiding a store for alleged “sale of paraphernalia” (Ziplock Baggies) They raided the store, disabled all of the cameras, looted the store for food and drinks, stole $10,000 in cash, stole the security cameras and monitors. All because he allegedly sold some ziplock bags. This is a horrible, horrible example of what these drug laws are doing to hard working citizens, as well as just how much the corruption has effected these officials.

In Phoenix police raided the home of a 41 year old blogger who ran an online blog called “Bad Phoenix Cops” which was critical of the local police department. They Raided his home and confiscated his all of his hardware, including networking routers and modems. They took everything needed to continue blogging. This was an obvious retaliation to his blogging and a direct attempt to cover their asses.

Not to mention the cops that raided and shot the 20 year old college student in Michigan last month. The countless stories of the consequences of upholding the prohibition should be enough to bring this issue to a top priority in North America.

Spread the word, Stand up for what’s right and we can change our countries for the better so future generations can enjoy a better life with all the rights and freedoms they deserve.

King of Hearts

I just read an article on NBC Bay Area News, HERE called “Media Getting High on Pot Legalization” In the article by Caitlin Millat she discusses the rising popularity of the of the prospect of Legalization by showing examples of the support the movement has been getting.

She starts off however, with the statement “It may be too soon to call it a movement.” Despite my limited time on this earth, it would seem that we are smack-dab in the middle of a movement thats been going on for upwards of 30+ years. But it Seems like only now the movement has finally caught on and earned national recognition and support. When Marc Emery was raided and arrested, the DEA stated that ” It was a major blow to the Marijuana Legalization Movement.” Well it seems to me that we came back full force and pushed this into a North American Movement! Hopefully we will be seeing more and more media coverage of the issue and all the benefits of legalization within our society. So go ahead and call it a “Movement” because its definitely moving

According to one of his closest confidants, Mexican Drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman Loera, Ranked #701st on Forbe’s list of wealthiest people with an estimated $1 billion to his name  was reported to have said,

“I couldn’t have gotten so stinking rich without George Bush, George Bush Jr., Ronald Reagan, even El Presidente Obama, none of them have the cajones to stand up to all the big money that wants to keep this stuff illegal. From the bottom of my heart, I want to say, Gracias amigos, I owe my whole empire to you.”

When I hear statements like this It sets off a huge red flag in my head. How can one of the richest and most ruthless drug lords of our time be thankful towards the lawmakers who swear they do all they can to fight and destroy this man?  Obviously ITS NOT WORKING. When the Gangsters and the Politicians want the same thing, isn’t it possible the politicians aren’t doing the right thing?

This should set off alarms in the minds of all the people who are letting these corrupt agenda based politicians set the parameters by which we are required to live. We live with the fear of incarceration for what we believe is right, We live in fear of the government and law enforcement.

The current system teaches children that they are all criminals. If you smoke pot, you’re a criminal and since everybody smokes pot, we’re all criminals. If something so harmless is a crime, then maybe other crimes like theft and dealing drugs aren’t so bad. By criminalizing Marijuana, the system introduces people to crime by forcing them to deal directly with criminal drug dealers who in turn turn them on to hard drugs and the world of crime.

We have to legalize marijuana and stop turning our otherwise law abiding, hard working and socially contributing citizens in to criminals who can no longer get a job, get subsidized housing or financial aid for college.

Prohibition Is The Problem!

King of Hearts
